Can cats eat avocado?
Caution · Only rarely, tiny amounts
Only with caution. Avocado is not ideal for cats.
Why
The ASPCA lists avocado as toxic to cats because of persin, which may cause vomiting and diarrhea. Cats are less severely affected than birds or horses, but the high fat and the pit are also risks.
How to serve it
Avoid feeding it on purpose; call your vet if your cat ate the pit or a large amount.
Always check with your vet if your cat has health conditions, and see the ASPCA list of people foods to avoid.
